This is exactly what is going on with Sam Lowry, the main character in Brazil. He sees the evil
monster of a government as an outside entity that he's fighting, yet when he unmasks the monster,
it is his face that he reveals.
From The Human Condition's Core Wave Relationship: "What is real and what is illusion?" Brazil's
switching back and forth from dream to reality and then the blurring of the distinction asks this very question.
